Scope

CADS2010 solicits novel, unpublished papers on a broad range of topics that include, but are not limited to, the following:

Computer Architecture and Synthesis

Computer architecture topics such as multi-cores, memory systems, and parallel computing; compilation Technologies; java Processing; arithmetic, signal processing and vector processing units; graphics processing units and hardware accelerators; high-level, behavioral, register-transfer, logic and physical circuit synthesis; memory architectures; communication architecture and protocols; specific circuits and processors; energy-awareness, green computing; organic and autonomic computing; management of parallel computational resources, memory allocation and hierarchy; transaction level modeling and higher-level modeling; virtual system prototyping; design space exploration; synthesis of asynchronous and dataflow driven systems; system aspects of ubiquitous and pervasive computing such as sensor nodes, novel input/output devices, novel computing platforms, architecture modeling, and middleware; performance metrics and evaluation.

Arithmetic Systems

Theoretical aspects, number systems, algorithms for operations, implementations and applications of computer arithmetic.

Multiprocessor Systems-on-a-chips-(MPSoC)

CMP, SMP, SMT, DSP and VLIW (multi)processor architecture and enhancements; Interconnection architectures like NoC, Processor core architectures, Virtualization techniques; power, timing, predictability and other QoS issues; Processor allocation and scheduling in MPSoCs, Programming tools and techniques, Mapping of applications onto MPSoCs ; MPSoC reliability issues; OS and compiler support for MPSoCs; Performance modelling and prediction.

Dependable and Fault-Tolerant Systems

Reliability models for hardware and software, modelling and simulation of fault-tolerant systems; fault models and fault model abstraction, fault-tolerant systems and system components, fault treatment, detection and correction of transient faults; testing of hardware and software and formal verification of systems; timeliness problems and safety-critical applications; dependability of embedded systems, highly available systems; robustness and robustness metrics, quantitative assessment of reliability improvements.

Testing of Digital Systems

Design and verification languages; functional, structural and parametric specification and modeling; simulation, emulation, prototyping, and testing at the system, register-transfer, logic and physical levels; co-simulation and co-verification.

Very Large Scale Integrated Circuits and Emerging technologies

Deep sub-micron VLSI design issues; digital design in 3D layouts; optical, bio, nano and quantum technologies and computing; self-organizing and self-adapting systems.

Embedded and Real-time Systems

Real-time operating systems and scheduling; timing analysis; programming languages and run-time systems; middleware systems; design and analysis tools; embedded systems and operating systems and scheduling; HW/SW co-design; power/thermal-aware design issues; embedded multimedia applications; embedded system design practices, embedded system architecture.

Re-configurable Systems

Processor, communication, memory and software architectures with focus on application specific and/or embedded computing.

Applications

(Wireless) Communication and networking; measurement and control; health-care and medicine; military, space, avionics and automotive systems; surveillance and security; networked and electronic media; multimedia design; real time signal processing hardware; digital video technology; consumer electronics; ambient intelligence; wireless sensor networks; ubiquitous, wearable and implanted systems.
