Part 2 TC Forum
TC8 has invited members of other TC's and all of its own WG members to participate in two e-Commerce/e-Business activities being sponsored by TC8 or TC8 in conjunction with TC6 and TC11 (see Attachment 3). TC8 believes it important for IFIP to appropriately accommodate this topic within the IFIP structure. For its part TC8 sees e-Commerce/e-Business as an opportunity for collaborative research within the IFIP family itself (hence the joint work with TC's 6 and 11) and as an outreach opportunity for collaboration with other disciplines (hence the focus of the Salzburg event).

Subject: TC8 E-Business/E-Commerce research conferences
Message:
IFIP TC8 is involved in two E-Business/E-Commerce research activities this year. We would like to encourage members of the TC8 family with an interest in the field to consider participating in one or both events or bringing the opportunity to the attention of colleagues who may be interested in participating. In event sequence they are as follows.
June 22-23 Multidisciplinary research in eBusiness
IFIP TC8 is running a working conference with the theme "Multidisciplinary
research in eBusiness".
>
The idea of the conference is to reach-out beyond the IS community, which some would see as the traditional home of "E-Commerce/E-business" and draw researchers from other fields into our research discussions.
The IFIP conference runs Friday and Saturday June 22-23. The organizers will arrange rail coach bookings on the Sunday for those continuing on to the 14th Bled Conference on Electronic Commerce, Bled, Slovenia, June 25-26 < http://ecom.fov.uni-mb.si/ > and ECIS < http://ECIS2001.fov.uni-mb.si/ >
October 4-5 The First IFIP Conference on e-Commerce, e-Business, e-Government in Zürich, Switzerland sponsored by TC's 6, 8 and 11
< www.ifi.unizh.ch/I3E-conference >
This conference is the first IFIP conference on e-commerce, e-business, and e-government sponsored by the three committees TC6, TC8, and TC11. It provides a forum for users, engineers, and scientists in academia, industry, and government to present their latest findings in e-commerce, e-business, or e-government applications and the underlying technology to support those applications. Areas of particular interest include but are not limited to:
Bernard Glasson
Chair, TC8
