Working group activities

The current WGs are

WG12.5 Knowledge-Oriented Development of Applications
WG12.6 Intelligent Information Management

Both WGs participate in the preparation of the Conference On Intelligent Information Processing (IIP2002) within IFIP WCC2002 in Montreal. The conference is designed to be a forum for TC12 WG activities and offers the following tracks:

Track 1: "Knowledge-Based System Architecture"
Track 2: "Intelligent Information Management"
There will be the following linkage sessions together with other TCs:
Linkage Session "Autonomous Agents - Control and Security"
Linkage Session "Innovative Software Architecting with and for Intelligent Information Systems"
Linkage Session "Semantic Web"
Linkage Session "Personalized Web Interaction"
Linkage Session "Web-based Learning"

Events

21.8 - 25.8.2000 IIP-2000, International Conference On Intelligent Information Processing, Beijing, China (supported by TC12 as part of WCC-2000).

17.12. - 19.12.2000 KBSC International Conference on Knowledge-Based Computer Systems, Mumbai, India (sponsored by TC12)

Progress and status

Much work of TC-12 is directed towards the TC12 conference IIP2002 which will be part of WCC2002 in Montreal. Furthermore, at the TC12 meeting in Seattle several promising actions have been decided which will increase visibility and level of activities. Developing countries, where IFIP typically has a good visibility, may have special interest in TC-12 activities, e.g. tutorials. In order to attract AI people to TC-12 activities, interesting services should be offered to the AI community. As an example, a web-based inventory of all AI societies should be offered.

REPORT TO TA

The current WGs are

WG 12.5 "Knowledge-Oriented Development of Applications"
WG 12.6 "Intelligent Information Management"

The topics of the WGs attract much attention and appear to be well chosen. They provide the focus of IIP-2002, the TC12 stream in WCC2002. The linkage sessions planned together with other PCs are very important to make this conference a success.

Most of the activities of TC12 are directed towards IIP2002 at the WCC2002 in Montreal.
